RAD Comics by RAD Kids!
RAD TALES COMIC ACADEMY
Create. Publish. Showcase. Inspire.
This isn't just another art class.
RAD Tales Comic Academy is a year-long creative program where young artists learn the art of comic creation while building their own characters, stories and artwork.
With guidance from Machete Comics, students experience the journey from first sketch to finished comic.
WHAT STUDENTS DO
• Create original characters and stories
• Learn pencilling, inking and comic page design
• Explore digital colouring and lettering
• Create artwork for print and digital use
• Develop artwork into prints, cards, magnets and other products
• Contribute to the annual RAD Tales comic book
• Learn how to present and sell their artwork
REAL CREATIVE EXPERIENCES
RAD Tales is built around creating things students can actually see, hold and share.
Students work toward the annual RAD Tales comic book, Holiday Pop-Up Showcase and Rad Kids Comic & Art Con, giving them opportunities to see their work published and showcase their creations in the community.
Qualifying students can also earn a complimentary artist booth at the Comic & Art Con.
